A simple question that started it all

One summer afternoon, our founders walked into an auto parts factory. Workers were bent over, sweeping metal shavings and oil stains by hand. A diesel sweeper rumbled past — black smoke, loud noise, and barely any relief.

Someone asked: "Could we build a machine that lets workers stand up straight? A sweeper that doesn't burn diesel and doesn't choke the air?"

That question never left. And neither did we.
